2023-2024

TerpRockets competes in the 2023 Spaceport America Cup! After a successful launch, the team earned the second-place trophy in
our category and placed 5th of the 128 international teams. Our technical report, which scored third highest in the competition. Go Terps!


2022-2023

Over the 2022-2023 school year, the Terrapin Rocket Team will be returning to the Spaceport America Cup in a new category, 10k SRAD. We plan to design, mix, test, and fly our own N class solid rocket motor for the competition. We will be working closely with our mentors at the Maryland Delaware Rocketry Association in the design and development of these motors. These capabilities will also allow the team to pursue much larger and more advanced projects in the future.


2021-2022

TerpRockets competes in the 2022 Spaceport America Cup! Unfortunately, a faulty commercial flight computer caused an early separation. The rocket was recovered in one piece but with significant damage. Even with this failure, TerpRockets placed 44th of the 100 teams competing.

The 2021-2022 school year is going to be heavily focused on building and flying our 10,000 ft altitude rocket for the 2022 Spaceport America Cup. We will also begin building our next generation hybrid rocket motor to fly in future Spaceport America Cups.
